About the USA Today Word Roundup

Word Roundup is USA Today’s daily themed word search. Instead of a list of individual words, you’re given a set of category clues — like “five facial expressions” or “eight words with two U’s” — and your job is to find every hidden word that fits each category inside the letter grid. It rewards both word-search hunting and a bit of trivia, which is what makes it so satisfying.

How Word Roundup works

Each daily puzzle uses a rectangular grid of letters with several category clues underneath. Every clue tells you how many words to find and the theme that connects them. Words can run in any direction, so the real challenge is figuring out which words belong to each category before you circle them. A new Word Roundup is published every day, created by David L. Hoyt and Jeff Knurek.

How to use this page

Pick a date from the list above to open that day’s puzzle and see all of its category clues. Tap any category to reveal the full list of hidden words for it, along with the other categories from the same puzzle. We keep the word lists on the individual category pages so you can reveal just the one you’re stuck on without giving away the rest.
